Wednesday
Broken cloud through this morning with some sunny spells. There will be some showers, mostly in northern Scotland and Northern and western Ireland. A few showers affecting Wales and southwest England too. Eastern areas tending to be drier with the best of the sunshine here. The showers will be continuing into the afternoon and again some of them may be heavy with a risk of hail and thunder. Just about anywhere could see the showers, although they are most likely in the north and west. Increasing cloud in southern Ireland and southern England later. Highs at 8 to 11C.

Wednesday Night
Showers will be fading this evening. Most areas will be dry overnight with some clearer spells developing. However showers will be afecting the northern and west of Scotland with a few still in northwest England and the west and north of Wales. The showers in Scotland merging to longer periods of rain with some snow on hills. Thicker cloud and some rain in southwest England by morning. Lows of around 0C under clear skies, 2 to 4C where there is any cloud.

Thursday
Low pressure will be off eastern Scotland on Thursday, as another area of low pressure passes through the English Channel. Cloud and some outbreaks of patchy rain in the far south of England, heavier and more persistent in the Channel Islands. A further area of rain in Scotland, slipping south into northern England, snow on the hills here. For much of the rest of the UK and Ireland the day will be dry with some reasonable spells of sunshine, although showerts in the eastern Midlands later and a few breaking out in Ireland. Highs at 9 to 13C.

Friday
Low pressure to the south on Friday, high pressure to the north. Heavy showers in the north and west of Scotland, some wintry over the hills. A few of these heavy showers may also trigger over northern England in the late morning and afternoon. Drier to the south and brighter too, although just about anywhere is at risk of catching a shower. Highs at 8C in northern Scotland, 15C in southeast England.
