Scattered showers
Rain far north

Friday
An area of rain affects much of northern and western Scotland this morning, passing east and fading as the morning progresses. A band of showers extends through northern England, the Midlands, Wales and into southern England at first, again fading as the morning wears on. There will then be sunny spells and scattered showers for most of England, Wales and Ireland, although cloud increases in southern Ireland and southwest England later with rain here this evening. Highs at 12C in northern Scotland but more widely 18 to 20C in moderate southwest winds.

Friday Night
Increasing winds overnight in western areas where rain will be falling too. Rain could be heavy at times in Ireland and turning heavier by morning over the hills of western Wales and southwest England later. Drier in more eastern and southern areas and rather cloudy too. Lows at 7 to 11C

Saturday
Low pressure west of Ireland on Saturday pushes fronts eastwards and brings wind and rain to many northern and western areas. The rain heavy at times over northern England and Scotland as heavy showers follow the rain into Ireland. Parts of the eastern Midlands and southeast England are likely to be staying dry with some brighter skies here. A warm day in the sunshine with tops at 23C here but 17 to 20C elsewhere.

Sunday
Low pressure remains to the northwest of Scotland on Sunday. It will be breezy in the north and west with a fair amount of cloud and some showers here. More eastern and southern areas will be dry with broken cloud and some bright or sunny spells. The best of these in eastern England. Temperatures rising to 14 to 17C in the cloudier western areas, as high as 23C in any sunshine in the south and east.
