Saturday rain
Heavy showers

Saturday
Rain is expected for many on Saturday as a front pushes from southwest to northeast through the day, before turning more showery thereafter with some sunny spells developing. Best of the sunshine towards the south and west. Northern Scotland staying largely dry, although showers are forecast to affect Shetland, but it will be mostly cloudy. Highs around 10 to 15C.

Saturday Night
Into the evening and overnight a band of more persistent rain looks to linger across central into northern England, eventually affecting southwest Scotland. Largely dry conditions elsewhere but generally cloudy skies. Through the early hours and towards dawn more rain is expected to push across the southwest of England into Wales. Lows between 4 and 7C.

Sunday
Showers and or longer spells of rain looking to affect much of the country on Sunday as low pressure circulates just over St George's Channel. The showers are likely to be heavy and possibly thundery in places. Gusty winds too in the showers. Northern Scotland, however, should stay largely dry with some sunny spells about. Highs at 11 to 15C.

Monday
Low pressure moves eastwards off towards the Low Countries on Monday, which allows a more north-westerly flow to set up across the UK and Ireland. Sunshine and showers are again expected and some are likely to be heavy and possibly thundery at times, particularly further east and southeast. Best of any drier weather will be across northern Scotland as well as westernmost areas of England, Wales and Ireland later on. Top temperatures near 10 to 15C.
