Chance of a local heavy shower for the north Midlands. Best sunshine toward the west and northwest. A fresh easterly breeze. Cool in the northeast, mild if sun breaks through elsewhere. Highs 10 to 16C.

Cloud and rain continues to affect central and southern England and Wales, local heavy falls over a few hours. Elsewhere, generally dry, with cloud breaking across northern Britain. Clear skies allowing a slight frost to form before dawn for Scotland and northern England. Lows 0 to 4C north, 5 to 9C south.
 


Tuesday
A zone of rain is expected to lie across central-southern England and Wales, and may persist over many hours locally. Overcast skies for many central and eastern districts. Dry for much of Scotland, northern England and Northern Ireland. Best sunshine in western Scotland. Cool east, milder west; highs 7 to 14C.
 


Wednesday
Cloudy skies, rain or drizzle is likely to affect central and eastern England again, with some patchy rain extending westwards into Wales on an easterly breeze, tending to fade leaving most places dry. Feeling cool. Sunshine breaking through, best toward the northwest. Top temperatures 7 to 12C.
