Turning colder through the day

Monday
A milder day to come, especially in the south. Windy as well. Expect a good deal of cloud across Britain with only a few fleeting sunnier spells. Outbreaks of moderate to heavy rain in the far south of England are forecast to clear away by the afternoon. Elsewhere there will be occasional showers. These most frequent across Scotland, northern England and Wales along with the West Country. A colder air moves into Scotland, the showers become wintry over the Highlands. Dry elsewhere with skies clearing. A colder night to come with minimum temperatures of 2 to 4 Celsius.

Tuesday
A colder day to come across Britain and feeling colder in brisk northerly winds. Best of the sunshine will be in the morning across central and southern parts of England. Through the evening and night occasional showers affect northern Scotland, these wintry, and around western and eastern coasts. Those strong winds will inhibit frost formation but some icy patches may develop where showers fell. Expect highs of 4 to 7 Celsius.
