Wednesday A cloudy start to the day across much of England, Wales and Scotland. A few spots of rain in Scotland, but mostly dried first in eastern England. An area of rain across northern and eastern areas of Ireland, Wales, and much of Western England, together with strong winds here. Ireland is brighter though with some heavy showers. The rain spreads north and east into this afternoon with southern Scotland and northern England, seen by stop it. Showers return to the rest of England, some of them heavy and these will be affecting Wales too. Some sunny spells between the showers. Heavy showers affecting Ireland, some of them thundery. A risk of gales in Ireland, Wales, southern and western England. Highs at 15C in northern Scotland, 19C in eastern England.
Wednesday Night A windy night with heavy and persistent showers. Most of these will be in western and southern areas where they will be thundery and with hail. Winds in Ireland and much of England and Wales. Fewer showers in the east. Lows at 8 to 11C.
Thursday Low pressure north of Scotland on Thursday. Heavy showers, frequent and prolonged in parts of Scotland and northern England. Bands of showers passing from west to east in other areas, most of these affecting parts of western England, Wales and Ireland. Fewer showers in central and southern England although still a risk of a heavy one here. Highs at 12 in northern Scotland, 18C in southeast England.
Friday A ridge of high pressure building through Friday. Broken cloud and sunny spells on Friday. There will be a few showers in western and southern areas of the British Isles, but dry for most. A few showers in Ireland and western Scotland, especially in the morning but these fading. Increased cloud and periods of rain in the south of Ireland. Highs at 13C in northern Scotland, 18C in southeast England.
