A wet morning across northern England with snow affecting the northern Pennines and parts of the Southern Uplands. Brighter in Wales and the Midlands with some showers and rain in the far south of England. Drier and brighter for Scotland, whilst cloud affects Ireland. Rain will be affecting the far south of Ireland. Further heavy showers affects much of central and southern England and Wales this afternoon, merging to longer spells of rain at times. Turning drier in northwest England, Northern Ireland and much of Scotland, although with some rain in the far west. Highs at a cool 3 to 5C in Scotland and the far north of England, 8 to 12C in the rest of England and Wales, 8C in Ireland.

Thursday Night
Strong winds and some heavy showers in central, southern and eastern England at first tonight, this clearing to the east. Drier weather follows north and west with clearer skies. A frost in Scotland at -2C, nearer 0C in Ireland and a milder 5C in central and eastern England.
 

Friday
A ridge of high pressure builds across England and Wales on Friday. This brings dry weather with sunny spells, the best of them in the east. The winds picking up over Scotland and Ireland on Friday, reaching gale force in the west. There will be periods of rain arriving here later in the day too. Temperatures rising to between 5 and 8C.
 

Saturday
High pressure to the south of the country on Saturday, lower pressure to the north. A cold front will be passing south through Scotland and Ireland, reaching northern England and bringing cloud and rain with it. brighter in northwest Scotland with heavy showers. Windy in England and Wales, but dry and bright for most central and southern areas. Highs at 13C in southeast England, 4C in northern Scotland.
