A breezy but dry morning across much of England and Wales as well as Scotland. Rain into the west of Wales, southwest England and western Scotland as well as eastern Ireland. Heavy showers in western Ireland. Gusty winds spreading east through other areas in the afternoon, reaching eastern coasts of England by late afternoon. Squally winds as the rain arrives. Heavy showers follow to the west on coasts and hills, but drier and brighter for eastern Ireland. Gales ahead of the rain band. Highs at 8 to 12C.

Thursday Night
Rain in East Anglia and southeast England, soon clearing. Showers in western parts of Wales, England and Scotland, some of them heavy. The showers tending to fade as the night progresses with some clear skies developing for many. Only western Scotland is likely to keep the showers throughout the night, and there will be gales here. Tops at 2 to 6C
 

Friday
A ridge of higher pressure building on Friday. This is likely to be bringing a bright day for many with some good spells of sunshine. Frequent showers and windoer in northwest Scotland as well as northwestern parts of Ireland.The best of the sunshine in the east and south of the country. Highs at 9 to 11C.
 

Saturday
High pressure east of the country on Saturday with low pressure west of Ireland. Strong winds, a risk of gales and some rain in Ireland, western and southern Scotland as well as western England and Wales. More central and eastern parts of England, Wales and Scotland start bright with light winds and some early frost here and there. Increasing wind and cloud through the afternoon but staying dry. Highs at a slightly milder 8 to 11C.
