Outbreaks of rain north & west
Drier & brighter south & east

Sunday
Sunday brings a cool and showery day as low pressure is north of Scotland. The northwesterly wind allows for plenty of showers to develop. These will be heavy at times and may merge to give more prolonged periods of rain, especially in the north and west and possibly over southeastern Scotland and northeastern England through the afternoon. Fewer showers to the south which is where the best of the sunshine will be too. A breezy day with high temperatures at 12 or 13C in northern Scotland, 18 or 19C in southeast England.

Sunday Night
Showers easing for most into Sunday evening though lingering over northwestern coasts of Scotland. A cloudy night for the northern half of the British Isles, clearer skies to the south. A chilly night with overnight lows widely at 5 to 9C. Cooler for northern Scotland and more rural areas; milder to the far southeast.

Monday
Another cool day as west to northwesterly winds prevail. A wet day for much of western and northern Scotland with heavy spells of rain while showery outbreaks of rain affect Northern Ireland and northwestern England at times.Staying dry elsewhere though it will be a cloudy day for many. The best of the sunshine for eastern England through the morning then to the southwest through the afternoon and evening. High temperatures at 12 to 20C.

Tuesday
A front arrives from the Atlantic on Tuesday bringing outbreaks of rain, some of it heavy, to Scotland, Northern Ireland and western Ireland then later into northern England and northern and western Wales. Ahead of this it should stay dry to the south though cloud will build throughout the day. A mixture of sunshine and showers follows behind to the north over Scotland. Highs at 14 to 20C.
