Heavy rain and strong winds southern Scandinavia


Tuesday
High pressure across south-western Europe brings fair weather to Spain, Portugal and much of France. Highs 27C in south-west Iberia, and 18 to 22C for France. Dry too for northern Italy and the Alps. Murky with patchy rain for the Low Countries, also northern France in the morning. Outbreaks of rain spread to western Germany and Denmark.
Persistent heavy rain affects southern Norway, with snow over the mountains. Brisk south-easterly winds for Norway and Sweden. High pressure across eastern Scandinavia gives a fair day to Finland and north-east Europe, although it will be chilly, just 5C around the Baltic.
Low pressure centred over Greece brings unsettled weather to south-eastern Europe. Some heavy rain and thunderstorms, affecting Romania, Bulgaria and the southern Balkans - snow over the mountains. Torrential bursts for Turkey. Blustery winds and showers for southern Italy. Windy too for Hungary, also Ukraine.


Wednesday
Staying fair across west and central Europe, with plenty of warm sunshine for Spain and Portugal, approaching 30C for the Algarve and Andalucia. Around 25C in south-west France. Widely warmer than average temperatures for western Europe thanks to a gentle southerly airflow.
Settled weather for the Alps and Hungary. Some early fog patches in central Europe with light winds. Patchy rain and a lot of cloud for Germany. Blustery winds for southern Scandinavia, and heavy rain passes east across Sweden into the Baltic region. Showery rain follows into Norway.
Improving conditions for the Balkans and Romania,but low pressure over the eastern Mediterranean brings further thundery rain to Greece, Cyprus & Turkey.
