Generally dry
A little rain north

Friday
High pressure resides to the south-west. A weak cold front lies across Scotland, bringing a little rain. Patchy drizzle in north-west England, north Wales & Northern Ireland. Otherwise dry, with a lot of cloud, but some sun, best in the south & east. A west to north-westerly breeze, but winds light in the south-west. Highs 15 to 17C for central & south-eastern regions, 12 to 14C north & west, but only 10C northern Scotland.

Friday night
A weakening cold front slips south across the country overnight, producing cloudy skies and a little rain or drizzle, but amounts generally small. Some cloud breaks ahead of the front in the far south, and then behind it across central Scotland & northern England. Light north to north-westerly winds. Temperatures 4 to 7C for many, but locally 2 or 3C in the south-west, and also close to freezing in rural parts of Scotland.

Saturday
High pressure centred to the west of Ireland influences much of the British Isles, whilst a weak cold front passes southwards. Dry overall, just a chance of local spots of rain from thicker cloud. Bright skies with some sunshine, generally best around western coasts in the afternoon, but cloud will be quite extensive inland. Light north-westerly winds. Highs 10 to 12C north & east, 14C central areas, 15 or 16C south-west.

Sunday
A frosty night is likely as skies clear. High pressure resides across the south, whilst low pressure moves across northern Scotland. Generally dry for most, with good spells of sunshine in the south, but cloud thickening in the north. Fronts bring showery rain or hill snow to northern Scotland. Freshening westerly winds, later turning north-westerly. Highs 13 to 16C for central & southern Britain, but nearer 10C in Scotland.
