Thursday
A fair start to the day across much of England, Wales and Scotland. There will be some good sunny spells across northern and eastern areas. However winds and cloud will be increasing in the west with outbreaks of rain in Ireland and Southwest Scotland. The cloud continues to thicken from the west through the late morning and afternoon, as the winds increase further. Gales in western areas as the rain becomes more persistent and spreads east. However it won't reach the far east of England until evening. Highs at 7 to 12C, turning milder from the west and south through the day.

Thursday Night
Gusty winds and heavy spells of rain will pass eastwards through all of England, Scotland and Wales overnight. Lighter winds, cooler and drier weather will follow into Ireland, although there will be heavy showers in the north and west. Further heavy showers arriving in western Scotland and he is turning to snow on the hills. A scattering of showers of central and western parts of England and Wales overnight. Lows near 3 to 8C.

Friday
Low pressure states north of Scotland on Friday. It will be a cooler day everywhere and there will be heavy showers in western Scotland and Northern Ireland, these falling as snow on the hills but with some sleet at low levels to. Some showers in Wales and Southwest England although these tending to be isolated. Dry elsewhere with sunny spells to start the day but then heavier and more persistent showers arrive in northern England in the afternoon these again falling as snow on the hills. Further snow showers in central and northern Scotland. Drier and brighter across more southern areas of England, Wales and eastern Ireland. Feeling cold for all with tops at 4 to 8C.

Saturday
A ridge of high-pressure builds through Saturday. There will be frost for many areas at first and much of the day should be dry with good spells of sunshine. Further showers in northern and western Scotland falling as snow on the hills. Remaining breezy in northern Scotland but with lighter winds further south and the best of any sunshine in eastern and southern areas. A chilly day with tops of 4 to 7C.
