Thursday Low pressure north of Scotland on Thursday. Heavy showers, frequent and prolonged in parts of Scotland and northern England. Bands of showers passing from west to east in other areas, most of these affecting western England, Wales and Ireland. Fewer showers in central and southern England although still a risk of a heavy one here. Very windy too, a risk of coastal gales in west Ireland and southwest England. Highs at 13C in northern Scotland, 18C in southeast England.
Thursday Night Showers will ease across England, Wales, and Ireland as a high pressure ridge slowly develops over the British Isles. Western coasts will continue to see patchy cloud and drizzly rain as the westerly wind will remain rather strong; most of the cloud and rain will be near coastal areas. The southeast of England will be dry overnight with mixed clear skies. Scotland will have a wetter night, particularly west, as a front slips northward; east Scotland only sees spots of rain. Most will see lows of 8 or 9C, though nearer 11C east Britain.
Friday A ridge of high pressure building through Friday brings broken cloud and sunny spells. There will be a few light showers in western and southern areas of the British Isles, but dry for many. Through afternoon, rain increasingly affecting the south of Ireland, gradually more widespread into the later hours, and becoming heavy in the south with very strong wind. Cloud will begin to develop more broadly over England and Wales too. Highs at 14C in northern Scotland, 18C in southeast England.
Saturday Saturday starts with patchy rain across Ireland, broader areas of rain in Wales and southwest England with heavy bursts too. Some patchy rain in the east of England too. Scotland starts largely dry. Areas of rain will spread across England through the day, some dry spells in between, but mostly cloudy. Southern Scotland becomes wet as well, northern areas likely staying dry. Ireland likely has a dry but cloudy window afternoon before more rain returns late in the day. Variable wind, but often quite strong. Highs at 13 to 17C.
