Murky, some drizzle
Damp on Wednesday

Tuesday
A ridge of high pressure brings a mostly dry day across the UK. There will be mist and fog patches lifting to low cloud and leaving a rather murky and cool day. There will be some sunny spells, the best of these in the east. Western areas are likely to have some low cloud and drizzle on the coasts and hills too. More persistent rain reaches western Ireland. Breezier in the west. Highs at 5C in the east, 11C in the west.

Tuesday Night
A cloudy night for all areas. There will be some rain across Ireland, Wales and southwest England, this edging into the Midlands and southern England later in the night. Drier weather and some clearer skies following into western Ireland. Lows near 1C in central Scotland, mostly 4 to 7C.

Wednesday
Low pressure is to the west of Ireland with high pressure east of the UK on Wednesday. A front extends north to southern through the UK and this brings outbreaks of drizzle and rain, the most persistent to the west. Brighter skies in Ireland with dry conditions and sunny spells. Tending to be drier in East Anglia. Highs at 5 to 7C for most areas, 10C in southwest England.

Thursday
Thursday sees low pressure drifting into the west of the UK and Ireland. This brings cloud and rain, some of it heavy in places. Higher pressure to the east keeps these areas cold and mainly drier, although there will be drizzle close to the coasts. There is a risk of some snow over the hills of Wales, northwest England and southwest Scotland. A cold day at 3 to 5C for most but 7C in Ireland and southwest England.
