Dry Wednesday
A few showers Thursday

Wednesday
A ridge of high pressure builds from the west, bringing a fair day overall. Overnight rain fades by dawn in the south-east. Cloudy skies will break up slowly across southern England. Good spells of sunshine elsewhere - fair weather cloud filling in slowly inland. A strong northerly wind for eastern Britain, easing through the day, otherwise winds very light. Feeling fresh, highs 16 to 19C north, 20 to 23C south.

Wednesday night
Pressure will fall slowly from the north-west as fronts move in from the north Atlantic. Clear and dry for central & southern regions, but cloud thickening from the west. Patchy rain may develop on windward coasts in the west. Winds very light, although freshening south to southwesterlies around coasts. Temperatures 9 to 13C, locally cooler in rural northern areas.

Thursday
Low pressure to the north of Scotland pushes fronts across northern Britain. Fairly cloudy, with outbreaks of rain for the north & west, locally persistent western Scotland. A few showers breaking out elsewhere, passing north-eastwards across central & northern England. The south & south-east will stay largely dry. A fresh southwesterly breeze, strongest in the north-west. Highs 16 to 21C, locally up to 23C in the south-east.

Friday
A ridge of high pressure builds from the west. Many places will be dry with sunny spells, best toward the south-west. A few showers possible, mainly the north-west in the morning, then eastern areas by afternoon, but becoming well scattered. Fronts returning from the Atlantic bring rain to western parts of Scotland & Ireland by the end of the day. A fresh feel with a west to north-westerly breeze. Highs 15 to 22C, warmest south.
