Dry, plenty of sunshine
Changing by Friday

Wednesday
High pressure remains in control of the weather across the UK and Ireland today. There will be good spells of sunshine for most, the best of it to the east and south. Some cloud in Ireland and western Scotland which will make the sunshine hazy here. Staying dry in all areas. Temperatures at 16 to 18C in much of the country where the breeze just takes the edge off any heat, 20 to 24C in Scotland.

Wednesday Night
A dry night ahead. Mostly clear in eastern and southern parts of England and Wales as well as central and eastern Scotland. Western areas are likely to be seeing more cloud, although it is going to be staying dry. Lows near 5 to 9C.

Thursday
High pressure stays to the northeast of Scotland on Thursday. This allows for plenty of sunshine in eastern parts of the UK. Western areas are likely to have isolated showers, a few of them heavy in western Scotland. Cloudier skies over Ireland may also produce some patchy rain. Highs at a cooler 15C in the southeast, 21C in northern Scotland.

Friday
Pressure is expected to be decreasing on Friday. A front over central parts of England and Wales brings cloud and outbreaks of showery, but mostly light rain here. A further front allows for rain to be affecting western parts of England and much of Ireland as well as western Scotland, although this showery for most. Drier in northern and eastern Scotland as well as northeast England. Increasingly breezy with tops near 19C in western Scotland, but a cool 14 to 17C elsewhere.
