A fair day across most of the British Isles as high pressure builds. Plenty of sunshine and well broken cloud. Some wispy high cloud occasionally. A weak cold front clearing southward brings cloud and perhaps some early spots of rain on the south coast, but even here skies will brighten through the day. Western Scotland sees cloudier skies with occasional showers coming in on a west to southwest breeze. Temperatures reaching 18 to 22C, warmest southeast; nearer 13C northwest.

Friday night
Generally dry across most of the British Isles. Southwesterly winds will strengthen across northern Britain and Ireland, with cloudier skies here as fronts come in from the Atlantic. Rain moves into northwest Scotland. Under light winds across the Midlands and southern England, local mist patches will form around rivers and low lying ground. Temperatures dipping to 3 to 5C in rural Wales and northern England, typically 8 to 10C towns and cities.

Saturday
High pressure across southern Britain brings a fair day with light winds to England and Wales. Sunshine and well broken cloud. Some early mist patches in low-lying areas soon clearing after dawn. A brisk southwesterly breeze affects northern regions, with fronts crossing northern Scotland, bringing rain to the West Highlands. Little rain in eastern Scotland. Temperatures ranging from 13C in the far northwest, to a humid 19 to 24C England & Wales, warmest southeast.

Sunday
Slack high pressure resides to the south, whilst weak fronts drift in from the Atlantic. Many places dry, with best of the sunshine in the east and southeast. Cloudier skies in the west, and rather murky around west coasts of Wales, perhaps also dull toward southwest England. A little drizzly rain possible. Occasional light showers for western Scotland. Drier toward eastern Scotland. Highs 23 to 26C south, nearer 16 to 20C north and west.
