A brisk wind further north and east making conditions feel particularly chilly. Highs at 8 to 12C.

Thursday Night
Showers across northern and western Scotland continue overnight, these possibly merging into more organised spells of rain across the northwest Highlands into the Cairngorms and central parts of Scotland later. Showers also continue down some western coasts. Mainly dry with clear skies elsewhere. Lows at 3 to 9C but again in some places reaching close to freezing away from towns and cities and towards higher ground.

Friday
A ridge of high pressure builds across Ireland and the rest of the UK on Friday. It stays cool throughout the day with broken cloud and sunny spells for many, the best of it to the west and south. Through Scotland and into northern England some cloud and showery periods of rain is expected at times here. This rain tending to fade in the late afternoon and early evening. Highs at 8C in northern Scotland, 12C in southern England.
