Colder north & west
Outbreaks of rain develop

Sunday
Low pressure north of Scotland sends a cold front eastward across the UK and Ireland through Sunday morning bringing rain to most areas with a risk of snow in western Scotland. Tending to be drier further southeast but rain will arrive here through the afternoon and evening. Sunny spells and showers follow to the west behind this, these falling as snow over higher ground. Showers could merge to give longer spells of rain for western Ireland. High temperatures at 4°C in the north to 10°C in the south.

Sunday Night
Rain clears southeastern England through the night while showers continue for western areas. These showers will be a mixture of rain, sleet and snow and may merge at times to give longer, heavier spells of precipitation. A chilly night with overnight lows at -1 to 1C, or colder, for northern and western areas; 2 to 5C for central and southern England and south Wales.

Monday
An area of low pressure looks set to arrive from the southwest later on Monday bringing heavy showers and some outbreaks of rain (snow over higher ground) to southern parts of Ireland and the UK. Strong winds affect much of England, Ireland and Wales with strong coastal gusts too. Sleet and snow showers affect western parts of Scotland and Ireland but it's a drier day for northeastern areas with some spells of sunshine. Another cold day with highs at 3°C in northern Scotland, 10°C in southeastern England.

Tuesday
A colder day for all on Tuesday with low pressure north of Scotland. There will be a mix of showers, these falling as snow in Scotland, northern England, Wales and the north and west of Ireland, and sunny spells. More persistent snow may affect western Scotland while southern coastal parts of England could see heavy rain and strong winds for a time. Feeling cold in the wind with highs at just 2 to 7°C.
