Cold and windy
Heavy rain, milder tonight

Sunday
Another cold, breezy date to come across Britain today. Some icy patches to be found in the north, west and parts of the Midlands where showers fell yesterday. Further showers to affect the north and the west, wintry over high ground. Central and eastern parts of England and Scotland should have a dry, bright morning with sunny skies. Later in the afternoon rain reaches Northern Ireland and western Scotland. Showers will persist across Wales and western parts of England as it turns more cloudy across eastern England. Expect maximum temperatures of 4 to 7 Celsius.

Sunday Night
It stays windy through the evening and the night with gusts of 40 mph across Wales and southern England. Outbreaks of rain to affect Scotland, Northern Ireland, north west England and Wales in the evening. This then tracks south into central and eastern England and lingers across Wales and the south west. Across Scotland it turns colder with wintry showers on the hills by morning. A milder night to come underneath all the cloud with minimum temperatures of 4 to 7 Celsius.

Monday
With the overnight cloud cover, a less cold start to the day than the past few days across England and Wales as milder air briefly replaces the cold. Cloudy for the morning with sporadic outbreaks of rain while light snow affect northern Scotland. The rain lingers across much of England and Wales and this looks heavy in the south. Showers affect the north, these wintry over the Highlands. Strong north west winds push colder air south across Britain in the evening and night. The rain clears tonight leaving showers around western and eastern coasts. Expect maximum temperatures of 6 to 10 Celsius.

Tuesday
A colder day to come across Britain and feeling much coder in brisk northerly winds. Best of the sunshine will be in the morning across central and southern parts of England. Overall we expect a good deal of cloud with scattered showers and some patchy rain. This will be of snow over the hills of Wales, northern England and Scotland. Through the evening and night occasional showers affect northern Scotland, these wintry, and around western and eastern coasts. Those strong winds will inhibit frost formation but some icy patches may develop. Expect highs of 4 to 7 Celsius.
