Cloudy Wales & Midlands
Brighter south & north

Thursday
Cloud and patchy rain and drizzle extends through Wales and into northern England on Thursday morning. Rather dull here too with low cloud and fog on hills and coasts. The cloud and drizzle slipping into the Midlands in the afternoon. Brighter and drier to the south with sunny spells and feeling warm. Fresher for northeast England, Scotland and Ireland with sunny spells, but showers in the west. Breezy in Scotland, Ireland and northern England. Highs at 26C in the southeast, 15C in northern Scotland.

Thursday Night
Drizzly and breezy over much of western and southern Scotland tonight. The far north and eastern Scotland should be drier but cloudy. Bits of drizzle in the far northwest of England, but for the majority it will be dry with variable cloud. Always a risk of some drizzle on western coasts and hills. Lows at 13 to 16C.

Friday
Higher pressure builds on Friday. This brings a warm day with good spells of sunshine over much of England and Wales as well as eastern Scotland and much of Ireland. The moist southwest flow is likely to be giving some drizzle in western Ireland, western Scotland and perhaps the far west of Wales in the morning, although this will be fading from most areas in the afternoon. Fog could affect those western coasts from time to time too. Highs at 29C in the southeast, 22 to 26C for many other areas but 16C in northwest Scotland.

Saturday
A very warm south to southeast flow on Saturday bringing a fair day for most. There will be good spells of sunshine and it should be dry. Cooling sea breezes developing around the coasts. A front to the west may bring some rain into western Ireland and perhaps northwest Scotland. The threat of some fog affecting coasts of southern Ireland. Highs at 23 to 29C, but 16C in the Hebrides.
