Cloudy, rain mostly west
Cool north, mild south

Wednesday
A cold front moves slowly south across Britain, producing a lot of cloud, and occasional rain, which may persist for several hours in west Wales & north-west England. Little if any rain reaching southern counties, and the south coast should see some hazy sun. A few showers for Scotland & Northern Ireland - wintry on the mountains. A breezy day, particularly in northern Britain. Highs 9 or 10C north, 13 to 16C south & east.

Wednesday night
The remnants of a front brings cloud and a few spots of rain to central-southern areas into the evening. Skies will clear for many places overnight, although western Scotland and Northern Ireland will drag in more cloud off the Atlantic. A brisk westerly breeze in the north, light winds for the south. A touch of frost possible in rural areas inland, lows 1 to 4C. Milder on the coast.

Thursday
High pressure lies to the south-west, whilst weak fronts move into the north-west from the Atlantic. A fair day for many places. Sunshine in the morning will tend to give way as cloud fills in. Generally thicker cloud toward the north-west, with patchy rain for western Scotland and perhaps Northern Ireland, although amounts small. A west to north-westerly breeze, strongest in the north. Highs 10 to 14C.

Good Friday
Fronts drift eastwards across Britain & Ireland, bringing areas of showers or some increasingly persistent rain, mainly in western areas. Patchy rain extends to Wales & the south-west through the day. Largely dry for central & south-eastern England. Rather cloudy for all - the best of any sunshine toward the south coast. A cool westerly breeze. Top temperatures 10 to 15C.
