A windy start to the morning over eastern coasts of England. These winds should be easing to leave a bright morning, although rather chilly. Bright for most other areas with good spells of sunshine and dry too. Increasing cloud through Ireland and the far west of England, Wales and Scotland. The drizzle and increased cloud then spills through Ireland and southwest Scotland, with rain for Northern Ireland and Western Scotland by mid afternoon. Cloud increases in Wales and northwest England. Brighter in eastern and southern areas and staying dry. Highs at 11C in northern Scotland, 17C in southern parts of England.

Wednesday Night
A wet night in most of northern and western Scotland with some heavy bursts at times. Drizzle and low cloud affecting the hills of northern England. Some drizzle and low cloud too on western coasts of Wales and southwest England. Drier in central and eastern England with plenty of cloud. A mild night at 8 to 12C.
 

Thursday
Broad southwesterly flow through the UK and Ireland on Thursday. Rain in northern and western Ireland and much of western Scotland. There is the possibility of some bursts of rain in eastern and southern Scotland, particularly during the early afternoon, although a mainly dry and cloudy day here. Some drizzle and low cloud in northwest England and western Wales as well as coasts of southern and southwest England. Some brighter spells in central and eastern areas of England and Wales, although an odd shower cannot be ruled out here. Highs at 21C in brighter areas, 17C over cloudier western coasts, 12 to 14C in western Scotland.

Friday
Higher pressure builds in southern and eastern areas on Friday. A front will be slow moving over western Scotland and western Ireland bringing spells of rain here, edging slightly further east later in the day . Cloudier in southern and eastern Scotland as well as western Wales, northwest England and southwest England. Brighter in more central and eastern parts with some sunny spells breaking through here. An odd shower is possible in the afternoon across southern England. Highs at 22C in the sunshine in central and eastern areas, 17C over western coasts, 13 to 17C across Scotland.
