Windy in Scotland and Northern Ireland overnight with a risk of gales north and west. Cold here with showers affecting northern and western areas as well as the north and west coasts of Ireland. A few showers in northwest England, but dry overall with clearer skies in eastern areas. Cloud increasing in southern Ireland and southern England and Wales, some rain into the far southwest later. A risk of a frost in Ireland, northern England and Scotland. Lows at 0 to 2C under the clearer skies, 5 to 7C in southern England.

Low pressure is going to be crossing southern Ireland, Wales and England on Friday. A murky start in many central and eastern areas, but rain in southern Ireland and the west of Wales and southwest England will be spreading eastwards and turning heavier into the afternoon. A risk of flooding in western England and Wales later. Windy in Scotland with low pressure to the north. Frequent showers, some heavy in northern and western Scotland. Highs at 14C in the south, but a much colder 5 to 8C in the north.
