Cold north

Tuesday
Cloud through much of southern England on Tuesday morning, an odd spot of rain on hills at first but this fading. Sunny spells and dry for many other areas although still with some cloud. A further area of cloud and some outbreaks of showery rain affecting the far north of Scotland. This afternoon stays bright for many with sunny spells. Some cloud in the far south. Scattered showers northern England with showers in eastern Scotland. A few showers in the south of Ireland too. A cold 8C in northern Scotland, 18C in southern England but feeling colder in the north and west.


Tuesday Night
Broken cloud for many areas. A scattering of showers and spots of rain in England and Wales as well as southern Scotland, Dry central and northern Scotland. Some clearer spells here and there. A touch of frost central Scotland, lows mainly 3 to 7C.

 
 
 


Wednesday
A slack pressure flow on Wednesday. Broken cloud for most areas and some bright or sunny spells here and there in the morning. A scattering of showers are likely to be developing. The afternoon is going to be bright with more broken cloud and sunny spells. Showers here and there but many places are likely to be remaining dry. Ireland may have a few showers in the far north but will be mostly dry. Highs at 8C in northern Scotland, more widely 12 to 15C.


Thursday
High pressure off eastern areas of the British Isles on Thursday. This brings mostly dry weather to eastern areas with some spells of sunshine but also broken cloud. Western parts will be bright to start but cloud and some showers developing, possibly turning thundery in Wales and western Scotland. Further showrers developing in western and southern Ireland. Highs at 13 to 16C.
