Becoming milder
Risk of early mist or fog patches

Monday
A ridge of higher pressure builds first thing on Monday. It will be a cold start to the day with a risk of frost and ice patches for Scotland, Northern Ireland, Wales and the northern half of England. A chance too of mist or fog patches developing in areas. This should burn off to leave a drier and brighter day for most. It will be cloudier in the west with persistent light rain or drizzle possible for western coastal areas and hills. A threat of a scattering of showers moving eastward over England and Wales through the afternoon. A mostly dry and bright day for eastern areas. High temperatures at 7 to 11C.

Monday Night
It will be a mostly cloudy night for the UK and Ireland with scattered showers affecting western areas before a more persistent band of rain moves into western Ireland and northwestern Scotland through the early hours of Tuesday morning. Overnight lows staying well above freezing at 4 to 8C.

Tuesday
Higher pressure brings a fair day for many on Tuesday across the southern half of the UK and Ireland after a misty start. Cloud will increase through the day and there is a chance of scattered showers for northern and central England and north Wales through the late afternoon. Cloudier skies in northern areas with fronts bringing drizzle and outbreaks of rain throughout the day, most of this in western and northern Scotland as well as northern parts of Ireland. Highs at 9 to 14C.

Wednesday
A ridge of high pressure is located to the south of the UK on Wednesday. This brings milder and drier weather with sunny spells, although lower cloud and drizzle is a risk on western coasts and hills. The chance of more persistent periods of rain in western Scotland; drizzle in northern and western Ireland. Highs at 11 to 16C.
