Thursday
A ridge of high pressure over England and Wales on Thursday but with low pressure near to Iceland driving fronts towards Scotland. The slight risk of an isolated light shower but it will stay dry across the bulk of England and Wales. Cloud amounts will be variable with some decent spells of sunshine breaking through. Scotland and Northern Ireland will turn cloudier, though, with some rain or drizzle over the Western Highlands by the afternoon before rain becomes more persistent from the northwest later in the day. Highs near 26C in Southeast England, 15C in Northwest Scotland.

Thursday Night
Rain, some heavy especially in upland areas, will spread to all of Scotland, Northern Ireland and, perhaps, parts of Northern England overnight. Most of England and Wales will remain dry, though, with clear spells. Lows at 8 to 13C.

 
 
 

Friday
Fronts over Scotland will edge south as weakening features, with the ridge over England and Wales declining. Still some dry and brighter weather over Southern England and Wales, although with a risk of isolated showers developing and thickening cloud will bring some rain to the north. Rain over Scotland will turn lighter and patchy gradually before dying out, with the chance of some brightness later in the day. Temperatures peak at around 25C in Southeast England, 14C in Northern Scotland.

Saturday
Fronts will move south across England and Wales and continue to weaken, while another frontal system will approach Scotland and Northern Ireland later. Cloud over England and Wales may be thick enough to give light patchy rain or drizzle at first but it will become gradually mostly dry and brighter, with only isolated showers, from the northwest. Some brightness for Northern Ireland and Scotland, with sunshine developing in the east and only one or two light showers. However, rain or drizzle may return later in the day to Western Scotland and the Western Isles. Highs around 25C in Southeast England, 15C in Northern Scotland.
