Outbreaks of rain in Ireland will be gradually drifting into western parts of Wales and southwest England. A few showers in northeast Scotland. This afternoon sees wetter weather in Wales and southwest England with further showers in northeast Scotland. Mostly dry elsewhere with broken cloud. Highs at 6 to 9C.

Wednesday Night
Wet tonight in Wales and southern England with the winds becoming strong too. Snow is possible over the hills of Wales and southern England. Windy too in northern England with some showers in the east. Snow showers affecting the hills of northeast Scotland, these blowing in on the strong northeast wind. Drier in western Scotland although some coastal showers in Ireland. Lows at 1 to 4C.

Thursday
An area of low pressure passing eastwards through southern England on Thursday. An area of rain surrounds the low and this may be heavy across Wales, the Midlands, southwest England and northeast England where further flooding is possible. Snow could affect the hills of Wales. Cold with frequent snow showers in central and northeast Scotland. Brighter in Ireland, although some showers around coasts here. Windy for all. Highs at 4 to 8C.

Friday
Low pressure to the southeast of the UK with high pressure to the north. A chilly and strong northeast wind bringing cloud and rain to eastern England and some of this could be heavy at times, again leading to further flooding. A risk of some snow showers over hills of eastern England. Brighter and drier in the west with sunny spells. A scattering of showers over eastern coasts of Ireland, but drier through the rest of the country with sunshine. Highs at 6 to 8C.
