Feeling cold across eastern Europe where there will be outbreaks of sleet and snow. An extensive frontal system impacts western Europe bringing heavy rain to France, Portugal and Spain


Saturday
A band of heavy rain will push into northwestern Iberia on Saturday evening but it will be a largely fine and dry day for Portugal and Spain prior to that. More sunshine in the Balearics with Corsica and Sardinia being fair. Rain in southern Italy, which will fall as snow over the Apennines, but fair to the north although with some morning fog. A wet day in Greece with rain, this rain also affecting western Turkey. Heavy rain and strong winds in the west of France. Breezy but dry for the Low Countries whilst Germany will be dry with good spells of sunshine too. Cold in Poland whilst snow will be affecting parts of Hungary. Some snow in southern Austria but mostly fair in Switzerland. Cold in Denmark with a few flurries of snow in the east. The Baltic States will be chilly but dry. Staying cold in Finland with a chance of a snow showers. Cold too for Sweden. Breezy with some snow flurries and remaining chilly in Norway.


Sunday
A band of heavy rain moves southeast across Iberia through the day though the rain will become increasingly broken. Overcast for the Balearics,Sardinia and Corsica with the chance of a shower, particularly in the north. Dry and fine for much of Italy with heavy rain moving into the northwest by the evening. Heavy showers continue on Sunday for Greece and western Turkey.
Heavy rain for the south of France through the afternoon and for northern and western coastal fringes later in the day. The Low Countries will have a mixture of scattered showers and sunny spells. Overcast too for Germany as a band of rain and snow tracks from west to east across the northern half of the country through Sunday. Wintry showers too for Switzerland, Austria and eastern Poland. The Czech Republic and western Poland should remain dry.
Snow moving into Denmark and the Balkans through Sunday afternoon after a dry but cloudy start to the day. Much of Finland will stay dry and bright while southern parts of Sweden and Norway will see scattered wintry showers.
