Lower pressure arrives to the northwest bringing a spell of unsettled weather for much of Europe


Monday
Some heavy bursts of showery rain affect Portugal and northwestern parts of Spain. Staying dry and bright for southeast Spain and the Balearic Islands. Early rain clears southern Italy to leave a mostly dry and bright day here. Odd showers may develop to the northwest. Heavy rain spreads east across Greece through the day on Monday reaching western Turkey later. Staying dry but increasingly cloudy to the east.
Heavy outbreaks of rain spread across France, the Low Countries and Germany with cooler temperatures following from the west. Starting dry for Switzerland but rain and snow arrives here later. A mostly dry but increasingly cloudy day for Austria and the Czech Republic. Poland, Slovakia and Hungary are mostly cloudy with isolated showers.
A dull day for Denmark with frequent showers following a band of rain. Mostly cloudy for the Baltic States with isolated showers. Cloudy too for Sweden and Finland with frequent wintry showers affecting most areas. Norway also sees a cloudy day with wintry showers easing as more persistent rain and snow arrives to the southwest.

Tuesday
A mostly cloudy day for Iberia with showers for northern parts of Portugal and Spain. Heavy rain to the northwest later. Variable amounts of cloud for Italy with showers for western areas. Brightest to the north and south. Greece is mostly dry and bright while a band of rain, sleet and snow showers edges east across Turkey.
A band of frequent, often heavy, rain, sleet and snow showers works eastward across France, the Low Countries, Germany, Switzerland, Austria, the Czech Republic, Poland, Slovakia and Hungary on Tuesday. Brighter conditions with less frequent showers follows to the west.
A wet day for Denmark with gusty winds. Overcast for the Baltic States with showery outbreaks of rain for western areas. Wintry showers are prevalent across Finland and northern Sweden. A band of heavier, more persistent rain spreads across southern Sweden later. A brighter day for Norway with isolated wintry showers.
