Hot across southern and central Europe, with plenty of dry weather and light winds. Temperatures widely into the mid-30s Celsius, or nearer 40C for south-west Iberia. Local thunderstorms for northern Spain and the Pyrenees. Thunderstorms breaking out across the western Alps, and a risk of thundery showers for southern Italy, also Corsica, Sardinia and Sicily.
Humid with hazy sun for the Low Countries and Germany, 26 to 28C. High pressure over eastern Europe brings fair weather to Poland and the Baltic states. Some thunderstorms over the Romanian mountains. Hot for Hungary, Greece and areas toward the Black Sea, 30 to 34C.
Low pressure over the Norwegian Sea pushes fronts into Norway, bringing rain, heaviest in the south-west. Brisk southwesterly winds across Scandinavia. Patchy rain spreads to Sweden, up to 24C in the south-east. Finland stays dry until late.


Thursday
Scattered thunderstorms for central and northern Spain, but the south stays dry. 36 to 40C for south-west Spain and southern Portugal. Some thundery outbreaks too for central-southern France, the Alps and southern Germany. Temperatures widely 28 to 31C for central Europe, and 32 to 35C for Italy, Hungary and the Balkan peninsula. Plenty of dry weather for south-east Europe. Some thundery showers for southern Italy. Local thunder for Romania and Slovakia. High pressure resides over eastern Europe and western Russia bringing fair weather to Poland, Ukraine and the Baltic states. Fronts across Scandinavia bring outbreaks of rain to central Sweden and Finland. Showery for western Norway. Warm and humid for southern Sweden, topping 25C ahead of the rain.
