Dry in the west, fog for many, breezier east and cooler here


New Year's Eve
A dry and bright day for western and central parts of the Mediterranean including Portugal, Spain, the Balearic Islands, Corsica, Sardinia and Italy. Low pressure weakens over Greece and Turkey causing winds and rain to ease though some showers linger here through the evening.
A dry and bright day for France on Tuesday. A weak front brings low cloud into the Low Countries and northern Germany. It also brings light outbreaks of rain into Poland. Dry and mostly bright for Switzerland, Austria, the Czech Republic, Slovakia and Hungary.
Winds ease for Denmark which sees a dry and brighter day. Winds also ease over the Baltic States though it stays cloudy with scattered wintry showers. Staying breezy for Norway, Sweden and Finland. Scattered showers ease for Finland leaving a dry and bright day here while Sweden also sees a dry and bright day. Snow continues to affect northern and western regions of Norway.

New Year's Day
A fair day across Iberia. Lots of sunshine and dry conditions, feeling warm too. It should be staying sunny and dry in the Balearics and across Sardinia and Corsica. Further sunshine in Italy, although chilly in the north wit mist and fog patches. Greece is likely to be chilly and dry. Some showers in northern Turkey, with heavy showers in Cyprus.
Cloud and outbreaks of rain in southern France. Fair to the north with sunny spells. The Low Countries and Germany should be dry with god spells of sunshine, although a morning frost. Further sunshine in Poland as well as Hungary. Dry in Austria and Switzerland with sunshine here.
Breezy in Denmark, dry with sunshine too. Windy in the Baltic States and dry here. Mild and breezy in Finland, rain in the north. Windy for Sweden, mild as well. Coud and rain or sleet in the north. Wet and windy in Norway, gales on western coasts.
