Cold and unsettled in much of central and western Europe, drier in the far east


Thursday
Cloud and rain across northern Spain today with a further band of cloud and showery rain from western Portugal to eastern Spain, sinking south. Most of Italy will be fair with good spells of sunshine toc ome here. More sunshine and dry weather in Turkey.
Showery bursts of rain in western France but fair in the east. Some rain too in the far southeast of France. Chilly with sunshine and showers in the Low Countries, whilst heavier showers pass through Germany. Further rain in southern Poland and across Hungary and Austria as well as into Switzerland.
Low pressure brings rain and sleet into Denmark, some of it heavy. Wintry showers in southern Sweden with snow showers across the baltic States. Wind and snow in Finland as well as central and northern Sweden. Norway will be cloudy with osme snow shows in the south, drier to the north.


Friday
Cloud and some showery outbreaks of rain in northern Spain. Rain too in the far southeast of Spain but mostly dry and bright for the rest of the country as well as Portugal. A risk of some heavier rain and showers in the Balearics where it will be cold too. More rain with Italy with some snow in the north. Greece and Turkey will be warmer and dry with good spells of sunshine here.
Chilly with some wintry showers in France. Further wintry showers in the Low Countries with sleet and snow in northern Germany and northern Poland. To the south of Poland and Germany it is dry with sunny spells. Hungary, Austria and Switzerland will have sunny spells and snow showers, some heavy.
Sleet and snow for Denmark and southern Sweden. The baltic States will have some wintry showers too and these extend into Finland. Northern Sweden will have some snow whilst Norway should be dry with sunny spells.
