An area of low pressure brings a spell of unsettled weather to northwest Europe

Sunday
Staying cloudy and wet across much of Portugal although the far south does look to remain dry. Northern parts of Spain too look to have patchy outbreaks of rain about and cloudier skies. Drier elsewhere. Patchy rain should clear the Balearic Islands through the morning. Some patchy rain across Italy at times too. Mainly dry for Greece and Turkey.
A band of rain pushes from west to east across France today, heavy and persistent spells in the north. Brisk winds too along coasts. Rain spreading across the Low Countries and into western Germany by the afternoon. A largely dry day once again across the Alpine countries although Switzerland and west Austria will see cloud thicken. Dry with light winds and mist and fog across eastern European countries.
Rain, heavy in places, across the far south of Norway and Sweden will push into central and northern areas through the day. Some patchy rain affecting parts of Finland, western areas mainly. Dry across Denmark for much of the day although cloudy, and rain is expected to push into western areas later on. Some patchy light rain across the northern parts of the Baltics but drier further south.

Monday
Patchy rain over northern parts of Spain and the Balearic Islands fades to leave a mostly cloudy day over Iberia. Bands of showery rain move from northwest to southeast over Italy - styaing dry and bright to the far south and for Sicily. A mostly dry and bright day for Greece and Turkey though rain arrives to the far west of Greece later.
Early rain clears east from northern France and the Low Countries to leave a dry and fair day here. Patchy rain too over northern Germany but staying dry to the south. Sleet and snow for the Swiss and Austrian Alps. Mostly dry and fair for Poland, the Czech Republic, Slovakia and Hungary with just isolated patchy outbreaks of rain here.
A breezy day with outbreaks of rain for much of Scandinavia on Monday. Rain turns to snow over higher ground in southern Norway. Bands of rain spread from west to east over Denmark and from southwest to northeast over Norway, Sweden and Finland. Mostly dry but overcast for the Baltic States though rain arrives from the west through the afternoon.
