Thundery showers south
Fresher, cloud elsewhere

Thursday
Another hot start to the day across southeast England and East Anglia, but rather quickly cloud will be increasing and this will bring a band of thundery showers eastwards. The thundery showers clearing by early afternoon as fresher air arrives from the west. Elsewhere it will be a mostly cloudy morning with extensive hills and coastal fog affecting many western areas. Some bits of drizzle over western coasts and hills too. It will be feeling fresher and as the morning progresses the cloud should break with a few brighter spells developing. However, scattered thunderstorms may break out again in northeast England. Thicker cloud and rain move into the far northwest of Ireland and the far west of Scotland later. Highs at 28C in southeast England, widely 20 to 23C but 19C in Ireland and Scotland.


Thursday Night
A front passes eastwards through Scotland and Ireland as well as the far north of England overnight. This brings cloud and outbreaks of rain with it, most of it to the west. Breezier in these areas too. For England and Wales it should be dry with broken cloud although some rain may arrive in Anglesey towards morning. Lows near 10 to 14C.
 


Friday
Low pressure will be to the north of Scotland on Friday. A weak cold front slips southeast through Scotland and Ireland in the morning bringing showery spells of rain. England and most of Wales stay dry at first with bright or sunny spells in the east and south. The front arrives in the afternoon bringing cloud through northern England, Wales and southwest England together with some showery rain. Staying dry in East Anglia and southeast England. Fresher and brighter weather follows to Scotland and Northern Ireland. Highs at 24C in the far southeast, 12C in northwest Scotland.


Saturday
Low pressure reamins north of Scotland on Saturday. The remains of the cold front clear southeast England taking cloud and a few bursts of showery rain with it. Most areas then having a day of sunny spells and scattered showers. The showers may be more persistent across southern Ireland, Wales and the Midlands. Northern Scotland will be windy with gales in the northwest and frequent, heavy showers here. Top temperatures at 22C in southeast England, 12 to 18C elsewhere.
