Scattered showers Friday
Rain developing Saturday

Friday
A cold front sinks south across England & Wales, bringing cloudy skies and areas of showers, but small amounts of rain for most. Brighter skies and some sunshine develops from the north. Showery for Scotland, rain most frequent in the west, but largely dry east. Scattered showers for Northern Ireland. A south-westerly breeze, gusty around the front. Temperatures reaching 19 to 22C in central & southern areas, 16 to 19C in north & west.

Friday night
Dry for most areas into the evening and night, but risk a few showers in north-west Scotland and Ireland. Partly cloudy skies, some clear spells in the north. Mostly light winds, but breezy around coasts in west. Rain may reach western Ireland by dawn as fronts approach. Mild overall, temperatures 13 to 15C towns, 10 to 12C rural areas, locally cooler in Scotland.

Saturday
Detail and timing uncertain. Low pressure moves in from the Atlantic, bringing an increasing threat of rain to Wales & the south-west, setting in and turning heavy for many hours. Central and particularly eastern England may escape dry well into the afternoon. Bursts of rain possible for Scotland & Northern Ireland, but often dry far north. South-westerly winds will freshen, risk later gale force in south-west. Highs 18 to 23C.

Sunday
Low pressure clears away eastwards into the North Sea and pressure builds from the west. Early rain or showers, mostly central & eastern areas, may locally persist into the afternoon around East Anglia, but rain should soon fade from most places. Sunshine breaking through. A fresh north-westerly breeze, will ease from the west. Top temperatures 17 to 22C.
