An area of moderate to heavy rain runs in across western Scotland, north west England and Wales. In the afternoon the rain lessens and reaches all but East Anglia and the south east of England. It's going to be a windy day with gales up through the Irish Sea. Gusts to 65 mph to affect exposed western coasts of Wales and north west England. During the afternoon the strongest winds transfer eastward. Expect highs of 8 to 11 Celsius.

There will be a scattering of light showers mainly across Wales and western coasts, perhaps a few will penetrate into the Midlands. Showers along the south coast tend to clear by the afternoon. Overnight it won't be as cold as an area of heavy rain sweeps in across Wales, the southern half of England and Northern Ireland. Strong winds develop over night across southern England and Wales with gusts to 55 mph around the coasts and over the hills. Look for high temperatures of 6 to 8 Celsius.
