Often dry for many
Some showery rain & hill snow

Saturday
Much of England & Wales will escape with a dry and bright day, best sunshine in central areas. Rain may graze the far south-east, where skies remain often cloudy. Heavy showers spread into the south-west by afternoon. A few showers for Ireland & north-west England. In Scotland, some persistent rain and hill snow pushes north, fading slowly through the day. A south to south-westerly breeze, strongest in north. Highs 5 to 9C.

Saturday night
A zone of showery rain and hill snow spreads from the south-west into central England, Wales & southern Scotland during the evening & night, local heavy bursts. Patchy rain extends to eastern England. Winds east or south-easterly, turning south-westerly in south, locally strong and gusty. Skies may clear for some, allowing a touch of frost and ice. Lows 1 to 4C, but sheltered rural areas in north & west may dip below zero.

Sunday
A deep area of low pressure moves into France. Slack pressure influences the British Isles, with the remnants of previous fronts drifting around slowly. Local zones of showery rain or hill snow, mainly toward the north & north-east. Many places should stay dry and bright with some sunshine and light winds. Blustery near southern coasts, and a chance that persistent rain may extend into southern England - detail uncertain. Highs 5 to 8C.

Monday
Frosty in the morning, local fog patches. A slack pressure regime gives way to fronts moving in from the Atlantic. Dry and bright for eastern Britain for many hours. Sunshine turning hazy, and cloud thickening from the west. Rain across Ireland spreads to western Britain, setting in for many places during the afternoon. Southerly winds freshening, gales later in west. Temperatures 5C in the east, reaching 10C in south-west.
