Saturday
Not a bad start to the weekend for most parts of the country. There will be broken cloud and some bright or sunny spells developing with most areas dry too. Some thicker cloud may trouble the hills of southwest Scotland at first though giving a few spots of drizzle here. It should be staying fair into the afternoon for most too with broken cloud and some reasonable sunny spells. Dry overall, but winds increasing in Ireland later as rain arrives in the far west of Ireland towards dark. Temperatures continuing to recover from the cold of this week, highs at 17C in parts of southern England, more typically 14 to 16C, but just 12 to 14C in breezier parts of Ireland.

Saturday Night
A breezy night ahead although dry for the majority of the UK and Ireland. Cloud is going to be broken and the winds will be increasing. The rain in western Ireland during the late evening slips slowly eastwards, troubling much of the south and southwest of Ireland and eventually reaching the isles of Scilly and the far west of Cornwall. Gales may affect westher coasts of Wales, southwest England and southern Ireland. A mild night with lows of 6 to 9C.

Sunday
Low pressure slips into Ireland on Sunday with a brisk southeast flow affecting all areas. An area of rain across central and southern Ireland extends into southwest England. This area of rain slips slowly east into Wales and southern England during the day. Patchy rain developing i the Midlands through Sunday afternoon too. Much of Northern Ireland, Scotland, northern and eastern England stay dry and breezy, although there is the threat of a few spots of hill rain coming from the increasing cloud. Highs at 9 to 14C.

Bank Holiday Monday
There's much uncertainty in the detail of Monday's weather. Pressure is likely to be low over the country and this brings a fair amount of cloud and some outbreaks of rain with it. Most of the rain is expected in a line from Northern Ireland, through the northern Midlands and into parts of East Anglia. However, most of the rain will be patchy. Elsewhere it is likely to be mostly dry with some bright or sunny spells, although cloud could affect eastern Scotland. Less breezy with highs at 12 to 16C.
