A few showers in western Scotland. Meanwhile, central & southern Britain will be dry most of the day, with some sunshine. Breezy, strongest near coasts & hills in the north & west. Highs 10 to 13C.

Friday night
Staying mild for most areas overnight. A front extends from north-east to south-west, producing outbreaks of rain, these most persistent toward the south of Wales. Extensive hill fog across the Pennines and Wales. Substantially dry in the south-east. Pulses of showery rain affect western Scotland, but largely dry to the east of the Highlands. Temperatures staying up at 9 to 12C Midlands & south, but cooler at 6 to 8C in north.

Saturday
A slow moving front affects Wales & central England, producing persistent rain for south-western regions, heaviest over the hills of south Wales. Grey & damp for the Midlands, and generally cloudy across the south-east. Showers in western Scotland. Largely dry for Northern Ireland, southern Scotland & north-east England, although risk of some drizzly rain over hills. A strong breeze on the south coast. Highs 8 to 13C, warmest south.

Sunday
A cold front moves away south-eastwards early on Sunday morning, so any residual overnight rain should soon clear. Pressure builds from the south-west, bringing a fair day to much of England & Wales. Some early fog patches in central-southern areas. Sunshine breaking through. Light winds in the south. A brisk westerly breeze across northern Britain. Showers in western Scotland should fade. Top temperatures 9 to 12C.
