Mainly cloudy, some sun
A little rain or drizzle

Tuesday
Generally high pressure extends across the British Isles. The remnants of a front lies across central regions. Cloudy for many. Patchy drizzly rain for the Midlands, south & east. Chance of a local heavier shower in far south-east. Some sun for northern England, perhaps also the south-west. Fairly cloudy for Scotland & Northern Ireland, a little drizzle west, brighter in far north. Light winds. Temperatures 15 to 18C, locally 20C far south.

Tuesday night
Dry for most places overnight. Variable cloud. Light winds may result in fog forming in many low lying areas - will gradually clear in the morning. A freshening southerly breeze for Ireland & western Scotland. Mild in central & southern Britain, staying at 10 to 13C or above. Where cloud breaks in the north & west, temperatures may dip to 6 to 9C before dawn, locally cooler Highland glens.

Wednesday
A cold front pushes in from the Atlantic, bringing a period of rain to Ireland. Much of Britain stays dry most of the day, although showers may break out across western regions, particularly afternoon and evening. Small risk a local shower in central-eastern England. Sunshine best in east, turning hazy then overcast in west. A southerly breeze, strongest in north-west. Highs 14 to 17C west & north, up to 20 or 21C Midlands & south-east.

Thursday
A weakening cold front passes east across the country, bringing patchy rain, most persistent in northern areas, but very little reaching the south-east. Brighter skies will slowly develop from the west, although a lot of cloud may linger. Further showery rain moves into Northern Ireland & western Scotland on a freshening south-westerly breeze later. Light winds in the south. Highs 15 to 21C, warmest in south in any sun by afternoon.
