Heavy showers
Fairly cool

Saturday
Low pressure across the British Isles brings an unsettled day of rain or heavy showers, but also some drier and brighter periods. A zone of persistent rain affects northern England and southern Scotland, edging slowly northwards. Heavy and locally thundery showers for central & southern Britain, most widespread into the afternoon & evening. Brisk easterlies for Scotland, gusty south-westerlies for southern England. Highs 17 to 22C.

Saturday night
Some areas of rain are likely to continue for northern areas into the night, as an occluded front continues to encircle low pressure across Britain. Most persistent falls toward eastern Scotland & north-east England. Elsewhere, daytime showers should fade, although some may affect southern coasts. Winds light in central areas, but breezy on the south coast, and also brisk easterly winds for Scotland. Lows 9 to 13C.

Sunday
Low pressure to the east of Britain. Areas of rain are likely to pivot slowly around the low, resulting in some persistent falls, mainly toward the north-east. Showers breaking out elsewhere, some heavy and slow-moving bursts across central England & Wales, although quite hit and miss. Some sunshine. Fewer showers for north-west Scotland and Ireland. Blustery winds around many coasts, lighter central & eastern England. Highs 17 to 23C.

Monday
Pressure builds slowly from the west, although low pressure lingers over the North Sea. A front affecting eastern Britain brings cloud and outbreaks of rain or showers. A few showers breaking out in central counties during the day, but quite localised. Good spells of sunshine for western Britain and much of Ireland. Light north-westerly winds, although eastern coasts may be breezy. Highs 18 to 24C, warmest in sheltered western areas.
