Rain in Scotland

Wednesday
A cloudy and damp start to the day in western and northern parts of Ireland. Rain arrives in western Scotland by mid morning with the winds increasing here too. Drier in eastern Scotland to start the day but some outbreaks of rain here later. Brighter for England and Wales with the best of the sunshine in more eastern and southern areas. Always more cloud towards the west with some spots of drizzle on the hills here later. An increasing wind with gales in Scotland and Northern Ireland later. Highs at 14C in Scotland, perhaps to 23C in southeast England.

Wednesday Night
AS cold front passes southeast through the country tonight bringing some rain into northern England and Wales. The rain band reaches the Midlands and southwest England by the morning. Southeast England stays dry with a fair amount of cloud. A windy night in Scotland and Ireland with showers, some of them heavy. Drier later in northern England and Wales. Lows at 6 to 10C.

Thursday
Cloud and outbreaks of rain affecting southern and southeastern England this morning and it may be that the front responsible for them continues to affect the area throughout the day. A fresher, westerly wind blows showers through Scotland and Ireland, most in the north and west. Brighter for northern England and Wales with some reasonable spells of sunshine. Highs at 15 to 19C.

Friday
A shallow area of low pressure brings some rain into central and southern areas of the Uk on Friday, this edging eastwards. Misty and murky across parts of the north and west at first, this lifting to leave some broken cloud and sunny spells. Showers or rain arrive in Ireland and western Scotland later. Highs at 14 to 18C.
