Dry and mild
Foggy mornings

Friday
A slow-moving weak front produces low cloud and drizzly rain early morning for north-west England & north Wales, but should slowly improve. Early fog patches in southern England will break to give hazy sunshine. Broken cloud and sunny spells for Scotland. Cloudy with a little rain in Northern Ireland. A light breeze, mainly westerly, strongest far north. Cool at 11 to 13C Scotland & N England, but mild 16 to 18C central & southern Britain.

Friday night
Dry with very little wind across the country overnight. Variable amounts of cloud and some clear spells. Fog patches will increasingly form in low lying central areas and many valleys. Low cloud across the hills in north-western Britain. A light southerly breeze for Ireland and western Scotland. Temperatures 6 to 10C for most, but lows may dip to 2C in Scottish glens, giving a ground frost.

Saturday
High pressure across England & Wales brings a fair and very mild day. Fog patches in the morning, locally slow to clear. Sunshine breaking through for central & southern areas. Widespread very low cloud may persist across hills and coasts in the north-west. North-eastern regions will be brighter with hazy sun. Mostly very light winds. Highs 13 to 16C north & west, 17 to 19C Midlands & south, also to lee of high ground in north-east.

Sunday
Another dry, bright and very mild day for most places. Early fog patches may be extensive and locally slow to clear in low lying inland areas. A good deal of sunshine breaking through overall. Thicker cloud toward the far north-west may bring patchy rain to northern Scotland. Light winds, although expect an easterly breeze along the south coast. Very mild again, temperatures 15 to 19C.
