Thursday High pressure lies to the south-west, whilst weak fronts move into the north-west. Largely dry. Sunshine in the morning will tend to give way as cloud fills in. Generally thicker cloud in the north-west, with patchy rain for western Scotland and Ireland, although amounts small. A few spots of rain possible around western coasts elsewhere. A west to north-westerly breeze, strongest in the north. Rather cool, highs 10 to 13C.
Thursday night Fronts bring extensive cloud to the north & west of Britain & Ireland. Outbreaks of rain or drizzle are likely, most persistent on western hills of Britain, and also across Northern Ireland. Largely dry toward the south & east of Britain, with breaks in the cloud. A south-westerly breeze. Temperatures 4 to 7C, perhaps locally 2 or 3C in rural central areas where winds remain light.
Good Friday Fronts continue to drift eastwards, bringing areas of showers or some persistent rain at times, mainly in the west & north. Patchy rain extends into central & south-western areas through the day, but very little reaches south-east England. Rather cloudy for all - the best of any sunshine toward the south coast. A fresh west to south-westerly breeze. Temperatures 10 to 12C north & west, 13 to 15C Midlands & south.
Saturday Low pressure lies to the north-east. A cold front passes south-eastwards leaving a showery north-westerly pattern across the country. Showers most frequent toward the north & west, particularly Scotland, with snow over the mountains. Clusters of showers may also affect north-west England in the morning, then eastern counties by afternoon. Rare showers toward the south & south-west. Spells of sunshine. A cool breeze, highs 9 to 13C.
