Cloudy & damp east
Brighter to west

Tuesday
The remnants of overnight rain will be stubbornly refusing to clear from the far eastern coasts of England and Scotland through today. This dampness making it feel cold here as well. Elsewhere it is a drier start to the morning with some icy patches at first. Most of the day should be dry and bright with some sunny spells, although showers affect western Scotland, Wales and the west of Ireland. A few of the showers could be heavy at times before clearing this evening. Highs at 5 to 7C.

Tuesday Night
Eastern coasts of Scotland and Ireland staying cloudy and chilly through Tuesday night. Outbreaks of drizzle and rain continuing throughout the night and steadily pushing inland over much of northeast England and the east of Scotland. More western and southern areas will be dry with clearer skies. Showers fading in the west too. A frost forming by the morning with icy patches too. Lows at -3C in the west, 1C in the east.

Wednesday
A change underway on Wednesday as high pressure over Norway extends a ridge west through the UK. This pushes cloud and outbreaks of rain, and increasingly snow flurries, into much of eastern England. More western areas tending to stay drier but turning increasingly cold. The best of any sunshine will be in west Wales, western Scotland and southwest England as well as parts of eastern Ireland. Breezier weather in western Ireland with some spots of rain here. Highs at 3 to 7C.

Thursday
High pressure again remains to the east with low pressure to the west. Breezy through Ireland with outbreaks of rain in the west and south. Cloud and some outbreaks of drizzle and snow flurries affecting eastern coasts of Scotland and northeast England. Mostly cloudy and cold elsewhere with some sunshine in western Scotland and western Wales. Highs at 2 to 7C.
