Slack pressure across the continent maintains a very warm but thundery pattern. Staying hot and dry for southern Spain and Portugal, 30 to 35C. Hot and sunny across the Mediterranean, including much of Italy and Greece . Thunderstorms will break out for north-eastern Spain, whilst some severe storms are expected to break out across central & southern France, spreading increasingly east into the Alps and Germany. Torrential falls of rain are likely, with flash flooding possible. Clusters of heavy showers also likely for the Balkans, southern Romania and Bulgaria. High pressure resides over eastern Europe, bringing fair weather to countries including Poland, Hungary and Ukraine, plus areas surrounding the Baltic. Weak fronts bring patchy rain to southern Scandinavia, some heavy showers. Dry and cool for northern Scandinavia.


Sunday
Hot and dry for southern Spain and Portugal, although cooler toward the north. Breezy in western Iberia. Thunderstorms for eastern Spain and the Pyrenees. Pressure builds across France, bringing a brighter day for many areas. A few showers possible for Brittany and the Low Countries. The focus of severe thunderstorms transfers east across central and eastern Europe, affecting Poland, the Czech Republic and the eastern Alps through the day. Some thundery rain too for northern Italy, although the south stays dry. Scattered thunderstorms for the Balkans, mainland Greece and Turkey, but the Aegean Sea and areas surrounding the Black Sea should stay dry. Thundery rain is also likely encroach into southern Sweden and Norway. Cool with showers or longer spells of rain in the far north.
