Windy in western Mediterranean

Today
Heavy rain is forecast today across southern parts of Spain and Portugal with the north fair and dry. A better day to come across France with a dry, mostly sunny day to come. Rain and showers are expected across Britain with occasional showers across Belgium, Holland, Denmark and Germany. Dry across Norway today while rain is expected across Finland, northern Russia, The Baltic States, Sweden and Belarus. High pressure will give the Ukraine, the former Yugoslavia, Romania, Greece and Turkey a fine, warm day while light rain falls across Austria and the Czech Republic. Mostly cloudy across Italy with some light rain in the far north. A few showers around the Balearics today but dry across Corsica and Sardinia. Very windy in the western Mediterranean with westerly gales blowing through the Straits of Gibraltar.

It continues cloudy, wet and cold across Spain and Portugal today and this area of rain will extends east into southern France into northern Italy. Dry and warmer across southern parts of Italy into the former Yugoslavia, Greece and Turkey. Lots of warm sunshine too for Bulgaria into The Ukraine, Romania and the Czech Republic. Dry across Poland, Belarus, The Baltic States into western parts of Russia while rain spreads in across Finland in the afternoon. Cold and windy acrossNorway with sunny spells and wintry showers in the west. Rain is forecast fro Sweden into Denmark with heavy showers expected across Holland, Belgium and northern parts of Germany. Dry across southern Germany and much of England.
