Cloudy with patchy rain

Monday
Expect a good deal of cloud across England and Wales with sporadic outbreaks of mainly light rain in the morning. An area of heavy rain in the eastern channel may threaten the south east coasts but may stay just south. Sunnier and mainly dry across Scotland and Northern Ireland with a few coastal showers. Windy in the south today with top temperatures of 8 to 12 Celsius.


Monday Night
Light rain in the far south east of England will clear by tonight as rain and drizzle spills in across Scotland and onto the northern coasts of Northern Ireland by morning. Where any cloud breaks occur, a patchy frost is possible across northern England. Expect minimum temperatures of 2 to 8C.


Tuesday
Cloudy with rain, drizzle and mist across Northern Ireland and Scotland in the morning. In the afternoon this spreads into northern parts of England as it turns heavier across north west Scotland. Windy today in the north. Drizzly rain will continue in the north and west into the evening and night but dry across central, eastern and southern England. Maximum temperatures of 8 to 11 Celsius.


Wednesday
Very windy today with gales developing. Damp too across the country with heaviest of the rain across western Scotland, north west England and western Wales. Elsewhere the rain is expected to be much lighter in nature. A wet, windy evening and night but the rain clears from all but the far east of England by morning. Maximum temperatures of 8 to 11 Celsius.
