Cold, frosty Saturday morning

Thursday
A wet, miserable day across Northern Ireland, northern England and southern Scotland with spells of heavy rain. Some light rain for western Wales. The rest of England and Wales will be fair and dry but with a good deal of cloud. Best of the sunshine maybe in the north of Scotland and in the far south of England. Expect top temperatures of 12 to 17 Celsius.


Thursday Night
That area of heavy rain is expected to continue falling across northern England and Northern Ireland in the evening and night with 24 hours rainfall totals of 30-40mm across north west England with a risk of local flooding. Dry to the north and south but cloudy. Expect minimum temperatures of 5 to 9 Celsius.


Friday
An area of rain across northern England will weaken as it moves south into Wales and the Midlands. Just a few showers for northern Scotland otherwise dry across Scotland and Northern Ireland. Tonight that rain will have cleared leaving a dry, cold and clear night with a widespread possible from Wales into northern England and Scotland. Expect high temperatures today of 12 to 17 Celsius.


Saturday
Most of Britain will have a fair, dry day after a cold, frosty start in the north. Expect sunny spells and cloud but some light rain may affect the south west of England late in the day. Not as cold overnight with a lot of cloud across England and Wales with a risk of some rain in the extreme south of England. A frost is possible across Scotland. Maximum temperatures of 12 to 17 Celsius.
